I am currently a first year Ph.D. student at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology(香港科技大学) in CASTLE Lab, supervised by Prof. Shing-Chi Cheung(張成志) and Prof. Shuai Wang(王帅).

Before that, I obtained my Bechelor’s Degree at Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen(哈尔滨工业大学（深圳）), advised by Prof. Cuiyun Gao(高翠芸) of Software Analysitics and Reliability Lab.

My research interests include Artificial Intelligence for Software Engineering(AI for SE), Code Intelligence(LLM for SE).

SPENCER: Self-Adaptive Model Distillation for Efficient Code Retrieval

Supervisor: Prof. Cuiyun Gao(高翠芸)

• Propose a unified framework which combines both dual-encoder and cross-encoder of the pre-trained model in the task of code retrieval.
• Propose an approach of the model distillation for the dual-encoder, which can greatly reduce the inference time of dual-encoder while retaining the most performance.
• Propose a novel approach for the assistant model selection in the model distillation which can adaptively select the suitable assistant model for different pre-trained models.
• Reduce at least 70% of model parameters while preserving more than 98% retrieval accuracy.
